For Gigi ... A Letter to Heaven

Today there is a happy celebration in Heaven as it would be my beautiful grandmother Gigi's birthday.  Gigi was definitely the most important influence on my life and it became crystal clear to me how deeply when I was asked to write the eulogy for her memorial service a few years back.  I decided to send a letter directly to God explaining what amazing treasure was on it's way.  It is a letter meant to bring smiles and giggles.  Thanks in advance for allowing me to share that special letter with you today as we honor her memory:) Dear God, On the day I was born, you bestowed upon me a truly precious gift...my grandmother.   Gigi, Mimi, Gram, Grandma...she had many names, but one heart overflowing with love for her family. There's not a day that goes by that Gigi doesn't influence me in some way.     Sometimes it’s the crocheted potholders I use when getting Catherine's pizza out of the oven.  Some days, it's watching Cat...

Do You Like Bald Guys? (and Frankenbang Photos!)

I would like to welcome Catherine back as a guest poster today. She requested that I share photos of the "haircut" with you on "her" blog. (Apparently, she has hijacked my blog.) Before we get to that, be sure to read about the very special hot bald guy we'd like to share with you! Catherine says so! Before... After... There you have it! She wants to share a photo of the new "do" she's going to be sporting over the next few days while performing at Irish festivals all around town. The new look.... Yep, it's a bit "pageant" hair looking and her forehead looks like a watermelon, but she's still gorgeous! Thank you, Catherine for your awesome guest post! All of this talk the last few days about hair cuts got me thinking about bald guys... So, do you like bald guys? There are some pretty hot baldies out there these days. Well, there's about to be a new hot baldy on the block! Not only will he be a hot baldy, he will be a genero...

Warm Fuzzy Friday Frankenblog

It's Warm Fuzzy Friday! I'm feeling a bit random today. (I think I caught it from other bloggers...) I've got a ramble, a warning, a rant, and experiment for you today! (I'll try to keep it under 30 minutes of your time....hee hee hee...) The Ramble... I found a wolf spider creeping around in my bathroom last night! A freakin' wolf spider! Chilly almost had another heart attack! He doused it with window cleaner to stun it, but it kept crawling! He tried to drown it so we wouldn't have gross spider guts all over the tub. That thing would not give up! He finally resorted to the shoe stomp dismemberment. AND THE TWO HALVES CRAWLED BACK TO EACH OTHER! Finally, I swooped in with a tissue, grabbed the halves and flushed that sucker! Wolf spider bites are dangerous business that can make you very ill and require hospitalization. So yes, I am glad Chilly murdered the wolf spider! (Just so you know how much I love you all...I removed the picture of the spider because it ...

The Glamorous...The Flouncy Flouncy

I fear my daughter is heading down this road... Yesterday she came in my room telling me she was ready to go to Irish dance class. I did a double take because she was no longer wearing a shirt and leggings. She had changed into a long sleeve pink leotard and black boots. Oh, and she was wearing her black and white cat ears as a headband. Are ya feelin' me? No pants, skirt, skort, shorts...just the pink leotard, headband...and boots...these boots...with the skull, crown and heart charms... Trying to stifle a scream bubbling up from my "why is my daughter dressing that way" place, I cheerfully say, " Where's your guitar and the Pussycats, Josie? Well, look at you! Aren't you delightful?" "Yes, I am!" she says twirling around. "I want to show everyone my black boots!" I choke back a giggle and say, " Oh, they'll see your boots all right! You'll get chilly in just a leotard! How about a shirt and leggings?" "Mom...

Warm Fuzzy Friday is Back! (aka Because I'm the Mom)

Another warning...this post may be filled with rambling....the rambling of an exhausted woman...the coyotes had a rock concert outside my bedroom window for about 2 solid hours last night...I am not responsible for my rambling... Because I was up all night " enjoying the coyote concert", my restless mind led me back to my "early" days of blogging. Back then I did a post called Warm Fuzzy Friday all about my beloved grandmother, Gigi. Gigi loves us so much that when Catherine presented her with a play-doh heart shaped "cookie" last Valentine's Day, she took a bite, grimaced a bit, smiled and told Catherine how delicious it was! Now Gigi didn't know it was play-doh...she just loves Cat so much that when Cat told her it was a cookie she took her at her word and took a bite! (Auntie G, I know you are laughing hysterically at the memory of this...) Anyhoo, once again, I was filled with warm fuzzies remembering this and decided that today is another Wa...

Warm Fuzzy Friday

I know, I know...I am late getting my blog up! The phone calls, the sheriff's posse at my door aren't gonna make me do it any faster, family members! I've got kids to raise and educate!!! Now, as the Mayor of this little piece of blog heaven, I proclaim today to be Warm Fuzzy Friday ! I know most of you out there are freezing off your little tushies off across blogland. I, however, am in the desert and am getting some nice warm sun. I am sending it out across the land to all of you to help you feel a bit more toasty...there...did ya get some? Ah...that feels good, huh? Back to my WFF proclamation ...What, may you ask, prompted such warm fuzzy feelings in me today? Glad you asked! That would be my Poptart & Baloney Sandwich blog from yesterday! I received lots of love for that bloggy and it made me think alot about Gigi. Then I started missing her and then I had to go look at pictures of her and then I had to cry a bunch cause I missed her. I even thought (and I stress...
