We've been busy bees preparing for school to begin.  Since we are a home~schooling family, we have a library and classroom in our home. Fortunately, our new house has loads of Craftsman era bookshelves built all around our family room.  I get all giggly and grin-ish whenever I look at them.  I feel like I'm in a public library...one of my favorite places in the world to be! Yesterday, while I was putting away the final box of books, my mind wandered back to my childhood when I would spend HOURS in the library.  I grew up in a small Ohio town and we had a haunted library.  The Pickaway County Library...isn't it awesome?! There was a resident "lady in white" ghost who was known for tossing books around (especially in the children's area.)  My aunt was a volunteer there and would tell me all about the spooky antics of the ghostie. It was a bit creepy if you were there after dark! I n the summer months, the Bookmobile would come to our neighborhood....

Anyone have a fire extinguisher handy? My cake is on fire.... Today, I celebrate my 44th birthday! This is me celebrating back in the days of the caveman (as my son so sweetly noted...I'm in the stylish red plaid...) I'm going to spend the day curled up with some good books, favorite music and quality family time. Irish Dancer Girl has planned a "surprise" party for me this evening. (Don't worry about how I know this....she's the one who whispered it to me yesterday...lol!) My Mom is preparing my favorite dish and IDG (aka Cat) is making the birthday treats. Teen Caveboy is serenading me with some music on his guitar. I might have to enforce the "It's My Birthday and You Will Play Board Games With Me" rule later too....(yes, Chilly...that includes you...and NO, I will NOT play Scrabble with you...clearly my vocabulary is much larger than yours and I do NOT appreciate being beaten by someone who uses 3 & 4 letter words like "quiz...

"Did You Know" Tuesday has returned! And away we go! Did You Know.... that mild mannered Bee (that would be me...) yelled at a nurse when she didn't come to check on Chilly for OVER 6 HOURS??? Did you know that this same nurse said to me that if my husband needed her, he should have pressed the nurse call button? Did you know that when I said he was unable to do so because he had a stroke and heart attack, that Nursey McNasty smirked and said "well, can't he use his good arm?" (Uh, let's review...Would that be the arm that he was having the blood transfusion in or the one he was unable to use because of the stroke?) Oh, yes..she actually said that to me...BIG MISTAKE... Had I not been there during those 6 hours, Chilly would have aspirated multiple times due to his severe nausea, would not have had any liquids or would have been unable to go to the restroom. His blood sugars also dropped dangerously low. I was able to find a PCT nurse to help with t...
