Tuesday's Tribute: Happy Birthday, Haboobs and Hotness

Join the Tuesday Tribute fun over at Angie's 7 Clown Circus!

My Tuesday Tribute is dedicated to my little sister who is...ahem...42 years old today! Yes, Oooo, I just plastered your old age all over my blog!

Happy Birthday, you old hag! Mwahahahahahahaha!!!!

We've been the best of friends since she was born....(well, I actually kinda' thought she was gross, but she grew on me when I figured out I could mind control her....)

She's always there for me rain or shine....

She always makes goofy faces and poses in every family photo...that still hasn't changed...it's even been genetically passed down to her son....I would love to post one or a dozen, but she has threatened to kill me...Since she used to pin me to the ground and spit on me, just use your imagination here to visualize goofy photos of her...please....for my safety....I've been spit free for several years now and would like to remain that way....

She used to beat the crap out of me, but I still love her even if she did play with the freaky Sunshine Family of hippies....and Snuffleupagus.....and even if I wanted to steal her Bionic Woman Doll...(and I got even when she lipped off to me while I was driving at age 16....she wouldn't shut up so I busted her in the lip....then I ran like hell to hide when we got home! lol!)

She's exceptionally creative....she designed her own wedding dress! She's a talented artist as well!

She always laughs at my stories and is the only person on the planet that understands how hilarious it is to me to hear the word "haboob".....(here's a photo of a haboob (pron. "ha-boob") hitting Phoenix a few years ago....Yes, I have been in a haboob....it's a huge wall of sand traveling very fast...think Scorpion King...)

She hates the words "breath" and "moles"....yeah, Oooo, I thought you'd like that...consider it a special birthday gift....Here....enjoy.....

She's a fabulous Aunt and the best sister in the Universe! We miss you, Aunt Oooo and wish we could celebrate your happy day with you!!!!! Tell Dad to make sure he screws up your red cake as a special treat from me.....

xoxo
Your Smarter, More Fabulous Older Sister...

p.s. the hotness in the title refers to the flames ignited by the huge number of candles on the old hag's cake...I can feel them all the way from NY to AZ!

Haboob always makes me laugh! If several sand storms come your way does that mean you are being attacked by haboobies?

Happy Birthday to your sister!

Written as only a sister could do. Remember what the kids say, "It takes one to know one!". LOL You two must really be a pair, but doesn't it tick you off that she will always be younger than you??!! I'm the older sister and DARN!, that's the way it will remain. Regardless of how much of a hard time I give her she can always get me by reminding me I'm the oldest!...Happy Birthday to your Sister!!

I signed on as Follower, so I'll be back!

Haboob? Snort.

I had the Sunshine Family. My sister had the Happy Family. The Sunshine Family's best friends of color. We even had their hippy dippy camper trucks. :o)

Happy birthday to the old hag! Cackle.

A Wee Drop of Irish (or Cloudy With a Chance of B*tchy Part 2)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! How about a wee stroll down memory lane?  Thank you to everyone who messaged me about sharing this blast from the past again this year:)  (yes, Maureen...I do read your emails too!)  Even though it was originally posted in 2009, not too much has changed (says Dawn in her "I can't believe I have PMS every single year at this same time"  happy (think Pharrell singing "Happy") voice.  So grab a cup of Irish coffee, Jameson whiskey, Guinness or whatever suits your fancy on this fine St. Patrick's Day and let me share a tale of whimsy with you.  (and may the luck of the Irish be with you if you come my way today!  Don't say I didn't warn you!)

Oops! What's she doing here again? Wasn't she just here a month ago? UGH! The nerve! We had so much "fun" last time she was here, didn't we?

Well, since I have a full day of Irish activities planned, I guess I better be gettin' my Irish on....hmm...let's s…

For Gigi ... A Letter to Heaven

Today there is a happy celebration in Heaven as it would be my beautiful grandmother Gigi's birthday.  Gigi was definitely the most important influence on my life and it became crystal clear to me how deeply when I was asked to write the eulogy for her memorial service a few years back.  I decided to send a letter directly to God explaining what amazing treasure was on it's way.  It is a letter meant to bring smiles and giggles.  Thanks in advance for allowing me to share that special letter with you today as we honor her memory:)
