From the Murky Depths of Vera Bradley & A Bit of Luck

*Update: Just want to say thank you to everyone who sent me the most wonderful comments and lovely emails about yesterday's post! I am overwhelmed by your kindness and support! It means the world to me! Truly!
(if you missed it, just scroll down below this post...it's a Tuesday's Tribute (ahem..a long one, I know..) for my husband Chilly in honor of his first Heartaversary.)

Tag! I'm it! The lovely Kristen over at La Dolce Vita tagged me for a Bag Tag! So here's the scoop...

1. Show the current handbag I am using.

I'm in a weird "blast from my past" mood with my handbags right now. I alternate between my Vera Bradley backpack (an oldie but goodie) and my dear old friend, black Sak. Today it was the backpack because we had Irish dance. Want to take a look inside?

Let's see...we have the following items in the murky depths of Vera...

*Too Faced Chocolate Bunny Lip Balm *Sunscreen Stick
*Claddagh Coin *Keri Lotion *Notepad & Pink Sharpie
*Catherine's Ghillies (Irish dance shoes)
*Catherine's Princess Lipgloss
*Tissues *Hand Sanitizer *Cakesters (for Cat)
*Coupons *Wallet *Hair clip (yep, for park days! Cammie, it's going in the trash as soon as I cut my hair!)

Exciting stuff, isn't it? Some days you'll find bottled water in there too!

(If I was super cool like Kristina P., I would have a Sham Wow in there or a Bump-it Sandwich, but I'm not as cool as she is...she's my bloggy hero..I bet her bag is flippin' awesome...probably filled to the brim with really nifty treasures...ahh...I heart her....)

2. Share the price of the bag.

It was $88.00 (free to me...Christmas gift from my Mom!)

3. Tag some other cool chicks to join in the fun!

I am going to tag a newbie blogger to join in the bag tag-o-rama!

*momof3girls over at Land of Fluff
She is delightful! Please go give her a big old bloggy welcome! I just love her to pieces! Tag! You're it, momof3girls!

I am also opening this game of tag to anyone else who wants to join in the fun! Come on, bloggers! Be brave! Any guys out there with murses, man bags or such? Let's see what ya' got!

I also want to share a fabulous giveaway over at Jiggety Jig! Jenni is hosting this amazing giveaway that includes a gorgeous necklace from Kristen's Custom Creations! Kristen is the fabulous blog buddy that tagged me for the Bag Tag! I love Kristen's jewelry and her guitar picks too! Love it all! She is just amazing! Stop by and see her! You'll be glad you did! You must clickety on over to Jiggety Jig and see if you can get lucky with Jenni Jiggety!

While we're on the subject of getting lucky...how many of you had this?

I'll shut up now (especially since I dragged you kicking and screaming down my very long memory lane yesterday!)

lol. that clip is not bad....Im thinking banana clip, like from the 80s.....you know the kind you started at the bottom of your head and then clipped it all up at the top.

I am a new Vera B lover....I have a little clutch right now--hoping to score my first purse for mother's day

I had forgotten about that album cover! You are too funny!
Once again, the insides of a purse that puts mine to shame! There is no way I will empty the contents of my purse for the world to see. I have everything from smashed saltines to kids toys.

Thanks so much for the tag! How fun! I love your your Vera Bradley backpack - how cute!

Ofcourse, I had loverboy! I used to sneak around and watch for the video on MTV. (Such a rebel!) and I think I have it on my Ipod under my 80's playlist. Yes I love to clean house to 80's music!

LOL, love the purse! Not sure how I feel about carrying those darling shoes around however a hair clip or an elastic is a must for me too. I wouldn't mind carrying around a sham wow, you've got a great idea there!
Cute bag!! A sham wow, huh...that would be funny, but never could hurt I guess, hehe.

It's so funny you post this. I was planning on doing a bag dump post in a few days. Taking my purse dumping it and of course taking lots of pictures! LOL

Love the backpack and look how neat you are, so not the case here!

And on a LOVERBOY note, use to like them but now they do the casino run around here and that is just a little much for me ... LOL

You know I had that one, doggone it. I had it on cassette of all things. However, it was actually stolen out of my car at a park when I lived in New Jersey. No great loss. Although at the time I was ticked!

I did that bag tag and I am ashamed of you for keeping yours so neat and tidy.

Cute bag! I don't know loverboy...

Nobody ever tags me for this! Perhaps they know that I generally carry around my ginormous and super cute diaper bag as a purse? Anyhow - love your purse! Super pretty :)

I could never do this tag. I alternate between 20 purses, and I would get judged on how much it cost....

Seeing your bag, I think I need to pare down a bit with mine. I have so much junk in there that I must be lugging around at least an additional 10 pounds
Oh, that is a really neat backpack. I'm not a purse person, but you are the second blogger that has had a really cool back pack. I might have to go that route!

I didn't have that album, but I remember it:)

Love your bag! Way more neat and tidy than mine is... ;) I loved Lover Boy, too! ;)
Your bag is super cute, and so neat. Be warned I am doing mine within the next few days. It is not pretty.

So, you are a Vera Bradley girl, huh? I used to work with a girl who was NUTS about Vera Bradley -- she has so many of these and a full set of the luggage. She was a little crazy, but they are very pretty bags.

As for the contents, I think Catherine needs her own bag! I just love those dancing shoes! I want some!

And yeah...I had that album! Weren't your required to if you are of a "certain" age?

I hate purses. Sorry, I do. I only carry them if I'm not carrying a briefcase and I don't have pockets. I know... I'm leaving.

But before I go, I totally had that Loverboy album.

Seeing that cover brought back memories of Working for the Weekend and Turn me loose. You gotta love 80's music. (well most of it)

HO. LY. COW. TOTALLY HAD THAT POSTER. HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT IF YOU LOOK AT THE RED PANTS LONG ENOUGH, THEY SEEM TO MOVE? DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GET SOME PROFESSIONAL HELP? YEAH, ME TOO.

Your purse is way to clean...especially for being a mommy. When I did this post...mine had stuff growing in there....new life forms have been documented growing in my purse. I'll lend you some so you can beat the "sham wow" chick!

Tuesday's Tribute...Heartbeat..It's a Lovebeat

Yet Another Jay and Deb Production. I am paying my Tuesday's Tribute to Chilly. Today we celebrate our first Heartaversary. What is a Heartaversary, you ask? Well, settle in with a cuppa and let me weave a tale of wonder... One year ago today I was pacing the waiting room floor of University Medical Center in Tucson waiting for my husband’s surgeon to inform me if Chilly had survived his triple bypass. I’ll spare you the sordid details of how all this came about. I’ll just say that it was very fast and unexpected. The prospect of losing my spouse in my early 40’s wasn’t in my plan obviously. My plan was more of a “hanging with the kiddos, going to the Renaissance Faire, beating my son at Guitar Hero, driving my husband crazy for decades” kind of plan. But God always has a bigger plan for us. In this case, he was trying to keep Chilly on the planet for a while longer. As I have written before, Chilly has had two very challenging years. He has been a diabetic for a couple of decade
