Back in the Saddle Again...

The last few weeks have flown by in a blur. School activities, the medical rounds with Chilly, and the very unexpected passing of my Aunt Lil have made for a stressful time around here.  I remember spending hours as a child copying Aunt Lil's handwriting because I wanted mine to be as lovely as hers.  I will miss her with my whole heart. My heart aches deeply for my Uncle Ben who has lost his soulmate and for my Dad...she was his sister.

As always, music has again uplifted our spirits during this difficult time.  Connor and I (along with his best friend) headed up to Phoenix to see Paramore in concert a few days ago.  It was simply AWESOME.

                                                  (Connor..on the right)

We had amazing seats (as you can see from my photos!) I've been to many, many concerts, but this one takes the cake! This band knows how to rock the crowd! It was a fabulous time, and I'm so glad Connor hounded me relentlessly until I agreed to get tickets months ago!  As I've said before...there's nothing like music to soothe the weary soul.  It was one of the best nights of my life!  Totally worth the 2 hour drive to get there!

I'm going to rock some tunes and shake off the blues now.  I think I'm going to start my fall decorating and get my Halloween on!

Have a great weekend!

XoXo

My condolences. Glad you rocked your woes out at the concert. I agree with you about music. I feel so bad for people who are not music lovers. They are really missing out!

So excited for Halloween around here! Is it too soon to decorate?

Sorry to hear about your aunt's passing.

And those were some rocking seats! I thought you had downloaded those from somewhere ... not took them yourself!

So sorry that you have lost your aunt. Hang in there.

The concert sounds like it was so much fun! I wouldn't know about cool concerts, since the last performance I watched was my sixth grader's band concert.
I am sorry to, to hear about your aunt. Finally a picture of Connor!!

Oh, and I went to Paramore, too!! I took my daughter for her 16th birthday (my other daughter and my birthday girl's best friend completed our happy crowd) It truly was a GREAT concert! I wasn't expecting it to be so good. ;-)

Tuesday's Tribute...Heartbeat..It's a Lovebeat

Yet Another Jay and Deb Production. I am paying my Tuesday's Tribute to Chilly. Today we celebrate our first Heartaversary. What is a Heartaversary, you ask? Well, settle in with a cuppa and let me weave a tale of wonder... One year ago today I was pacing the waiting room floor of University Medical Center in Tucson waiting for my husband’s surgeon to inform me if Chilly had survived his triple bypass. I’ll spare you the sordid details of how all this came about. I’ll just say that it was very fast and unexpected. The prospect of losing my spouse in my early 40’s wasn’t in my plan obviously. My plan was more of a “hanging with the kiddos, going to the Renaissance Faire, beating my son at Guitar Hero, driving my husband crazy for decades” kind of plan. But God always has a bigger plan for us. In this case, he was trying to keep Chilly on the planet for a while longer. As I have written before, Chilly has had two very challenging years. He has been a diabetic for a couple of decade
