Love...Actually is All Around....

In my attempts to feel fabulous and festive, I've  decided to have a Christmas film festival for myself this week.  I would love any suggestions!  I will definitely be watching my two all time favorites...

"Love Actually" never fails to make my heart feel full.  I highly recommend it for holiday viewing!  Who can resist the charms of Bing Crosby & Danny Kaye in "White Christmas?" I always wanted one of those gorgeous red gowns with white fur...simply divine!

Once you hear the music from "Love Actually", you won't be able to stop singing Bill Nighy's rendition of "Christmas is All Around."  All of the "Love Actually" music is superb, especially the instrumental pieces by Craig Armstrong.  I listen to the soundtrack all year round!  And Colin Firth and Liam Neeson are in this film....how can you pass that up?!

I also adore "The Holiday" too....I know...I am a big, sappy romantic when it comes to Christmas movies!

So, please help a sister out!  I'd love to know what your holiday faves are!  I need some ideas!  I've got my special popcorn with white chocolate chips ready to go!

xoxo,

Love your pics!

My abosolute must watch Thanksgiving day to get me in the Christmas spirit are Christmas Vacation and Elf...they just crack me up! The hubby and I just watched Nothing Like the Holiday's with John Liguizamo (sp?) and Debra Messing and it was really good! A good movie about a disfunctional, but loving, family and what makes it work.
I hope your holiday's bring you much joy and togetherness.

OK, I am probably going to get laughed at by the masses, but I like Sleepless in Seattle. It takes place during Christmas.

And no one mentioned Miracle on 34th yet?? Oh man! I love the remake of it with Mara Wilson as the little girl. I ALWAYS have to watch that. Another must on my Christmas viewing list is The Nutcracker...with Mikhail Baryshnikov and the first Santa Clause movie (the other 2 of the series will be added this year). Can always go with the classics...It's a Wonderful Life, or A Christmas Carol. Here's a list to get you started:

White Christmas is my all time favorite Christmas movie ever.

Rosemary Clooney is from the town right across the bridge from me so she's kinda a HUGE deal around here. When I was little I watched that movie all the time and tried (and failed miserably) ever year of my childhood to put on a big production at our family Christmas party just like the one in the movie! It always brings back fond memories of costumes gone bad and dance numbers gone awry!
Don't judge, but I've never seen any of these movies. I'm off to put them on my queue.

These are my favorites too. I love the airport scenes with voice over on Love actually and when the little boy runs though security to kiss his young girlfriend. White Christmas though, is my number 1!!! Love the sisters song!

Tuesday's Tribute...Heartbeat..It's a Lovebeat

Yet Another Jay and Deb Production. I am paying my Tuesday's Tribute to Chilly. Today we celebrate our first Heartaversary. What is a Heartaversary, you ask? Well, settle in with a cuppa and let me weave a tale of wonder... One year ago today I was pacing the waiting room floor of University Medical Center in Tucson waiting for my husband’s surgeon to inform me if Chilly had survived his triple bypass. I’ll spare you the sordid details of how all this came about. I’ll just say that it was very fast and unexpected. The prospect of losing my spouse in my early 40’s wasn’t in my plan obviously. My plan was more of a “hanging with the kiddos, going to the Renaissance Faire, beating my son at Guitar Hero, driving my husband crazy for decades” kind of plan. But God always has a bigger plan for us. In this case, he was trying to keep Chilly on the planet for a while longer. As I have written before, Chilly has had two very challenging years. He has been a diabetic for a couple of decade
