Thankful Thursday: Thank You...

Did you hear that? Did you hear that thumping sound coming from your computer? That would be me beating my head against the wall....actually, it would be me crashing into the wall. It finally happened....I hit the wall of despair. I am completely overwhelmed, exhausted and frustrated by the events of the last two months, not to mention the last two years. Typically, I am a pretty happy go lucky little bee. The last few weeks...not so much. The last few days....grrrr.....(two sick kids and a sick mommy....not a fun combination....)

I haven't been around the blogs much. I've thrown up a post here and there, but with the "behind the scenes of it all", my commenting/stalking time has been cut DRASTICALLY. I really miss visiting with my bloggy buddies. I've tried to do a wee bit of stalking here and there, but I'm always getting interrupted with some sort of disaster that needs averting. One of the nasty time cutters has been a health condition of my own that combined with stupid perimenopause has made me just a big bunch of fun to be around. Dealing with that, Chilly's issues and the Suckfest 09 that started in April has finally taken it's toll on me...I hope after this weekend, things will finally settle down and I can get down to bloggy business.

Sorry for the somber tone of this post. I hope that after we survive Catherine's Irish dance competition in Scottsdale (two hours away from home) this weekend, I can just "start over" on Monday with a return to the land of Blog. I love blogstalking and can't wait to get back to it!

I do want to say a HUGE thank you to all of my bloggy buddies who continued to stop by for a visit even though I haven't been such a good visitor myself lately. Your support really helped me get through some pretty rough days as of late. Your comments were like little bubbles of joy that really lifted my spirits. It really means alot to me that you still stop by to say hello:)

Have a wonderful weekend, ya'll and hope to see you on Monday!

xoxo,
Dawn

I hope it finally settles down and you can get back to regular life. Isn't it scary that all this stuff is actually regulary life though? Here's hoping for a little less regular and a bit more boring. Hang in there!

do not give it another thought. life has its way of throwing us curve ball after curve ball, sometimes with no end in sight. you need to take care of yourself and your family, first and foremost. the rest of us will be here if you need us (and even if you don't!)!

So sorry to hear it's been such a difficult year so far.

I'm sure your "start over" will get you back on track, don't forget to drink your coffee - it helps to calm and soothe the soul.

I L-O-V-E your new background, btw!!! I am so jealous - wish it were mine! :)

There are rough patches all over, but you will get through it! No matter what it is, you'll get through it and maybe a little stronger when you come out on the other side. :)

Yikes, I am sorry you are all sick! It looks like your house took the germs that were inhabiting my house for what seemed like a month!

Life can get in the way of blogging. Ever since I had a computer virus in February, I can't seem to catch that blogging grove. It slowed me down:(

Hopefully things perk up for next week!

So sorry to hear about the rough times. Especially with illness and personal health issues - I know all about that one.

Wishing you better times, better health, peace, and quiet soon.

Good luck with everything! And hang in there. ;-)

I'm so sorry things have been stinky. I think we can all relate to that at some time or another in our lives. I'm still trying to shake off a bout of the Blah's myself.

I hope you have time while in Scottsdale to go have dinner or lunch at the Salty Senorita! That will brighten your spirits! (Or maybe you should go get those heels you've been wanting...)

Sounds like you could use a good cry. May I suggest Terms of Endearment, Big Fish, Born Free, Old Yeller, or Brian's Song? (Mr.4444 helped me with the last three.) Hugs to you my friend.

Whooo's 100?

I am! This is my 100th post!

To say I am astonished and humbled by the incredible support of my blog from fellow bloggers, friends and family would be an ginormous understatement! I am truly, deeply grateful that ya’ll stop by and visit me! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

(I had this scheduled to post at midnight, but for some reason, it didn't! I got up to check it about 1:30 am and discovered blogger's mischief! Sorry if you came by then!)

All righty then…do you have a cup of coffee, hot cocoa, tea, martini? How about a masseuse? You’re gonna need it! It’s my 100th post and by the time you are done reading it, you’ll probably feel as old and tired as Rip Van Winkle! You know me and my long winded rambley-ness! (....the giveaway is here..I promise!)

So, this is what I’ve come to know about blogging in the last 100 days….

A Wee Drop of Irish (or Cloudy With a Chance of B*tchy Part 2)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! How about a wee stroll down memory lane?  Thank you to everyone who messaged me about sharing this blast from the past again this year:)  (yes, Maureen...I do read your emails too!)  Even though it was originally posted in 2009, not too much has changed (says Dawn in her "I can't believe I have PMS every single year at this same time"  happy (think Pharrell singing "Happy") voice.  So grab a cup of Irish coffee, Jameson whiskey, Guinness or whatever suits your fancy on this fine St. Patrick's Day and let me share a tale of whimsy with you.  (and may the luck of the Irish be with you if you come my way today!  Don't say I didn't warn you!)

Oops! What's she doing here again? Wasn't she just here a month ago? UGH! The nerve! We had so much "fun" last time she was here, didn't we?

Well, since I have a full day of Irish activities planned, I guess I better be gettin' my Irish on....hmm...let's s…

For Gigi ... A Letter to Heaven

Today there is a happy celebration in Heaven as it would be my beautiful grandmother Gigi's birthday.  Gigi was definitely the most important influence on my life and it became crystal clear to me how deeply when I was asked to write the eulogy for her memorial service a few years back.  I decided to send a letter directly to God explaining what amazing treasure was on it's way.  It is a letter meant to bring smiles and giggles.  Thanks in advance for allowing me to share that special letter with you today as we honor her memory:)
