Friday Fragments: Confessions & Questions Edition

It's short and sweet today! I can hear your hallelujahs to the heavens already! lol!

Just a few fragments this fabulous Friday! Join the Friday Fragments Fun over at
Half Past Kissin' Time!

Let's rock this thing....

No More Name Calling...

My kids have finally threatened me with torture if I don't stop calling them "Children of the Corn"... (they don't know what the movie is about....they just think I've completely lost my marbles and made it up...)

***********
The Perfect Red Dress

I gasped out loud when I saw Cate Blanchett wearing this dress in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." It's lovely, isn't it?

Confessions of a Book-aholic

I am about to admit something that might cause a few of you to fall right off your chairs, weep in sadness for me or maybe you'll think I should be committed to the local mental institution...

I watched the movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic" yesterday...and wait for it...here comes the "shazam"....I liked the movie better than the book.....

Hello??? Are you still reading this??? You didn't run away in horror and disgust, did you??

I know, I know....I am a HUGE fan of Sophie Kinsella...I've read every one of her books and LOVE them all. Also, I NEVER like a movie treatment over a book edition....EVER....so this was quite a shock to me too. Have you seen it? What do you think?

************
Who Says?

Is he really the most interesting man in the world??

Let's review the evidence...

Apparently his blood smells like cologne
...(wouldn't this only really matter to a vampire?)

He is left-handed. And right-handed...(doesn't that just make him "handy" around the house?)

Even if he forgets to put postage on his mail, it gets there...(this actually gets my attention...this could be very useful in my world...)

You can see his charisma from space...(not impressed because you can see mine from space too...)

When he orders a salad, he gets the dressing right there on top of the salad, where it belongs…where there is no turning back....(this actually impresses Chilly who is a "dressing on the side" guy...it doesn't impress me because I'm a salad dressing rebel and just drench my veggies in bleu cheese dressing at every opportunity...)

He doesn’t believe in using oven mitts, nor potholders...(ok...now he might really have my attention...)

When it is raining, it is because he is sad...(and why is he sad? I'll tell you why, because he can't have me...the most interesting girl in the world, that's why...)

Here...clickety on this and see what you think? Is he really the most interesting man in the world???

Stay Thirsty, my friends....

Do you think this Alice...

gets her fashion inspiration from this Alice?

Wishing you all a delightful weekend filled with many blessings (and lots of good times!)

There are actually a lot of movies I like better than the books. Like all of them. I don't like words.

That's so weird about the Alice dresses?

I cannot believe you liked the movie better. What's wrong with you? ;)

Yes, that dress is awesome!
Really? The movie was better than the book? I haven't read the books..I've been patiently waiting my turn. Maybe I will skip them and go right to the movie!

Happy Friday! Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

OMG! You like the movie Confessions of a Shopoholic better than the book??? What? It was totally different...I love Isla Fisher, but I prefer the books. To each their own my dear..to each their own :)

I am checking my spy satellite photos to see if I can truly see charisma from space.

When your kids get older, you will have to rent Children of the Corn (Interloper).

loved the movie too, probably not more than the book though

Funny post. I feel kind of bad for Alice and that she and Sam never got their own spin off TV program.

Freakin' funny post today girl! Loved the movie, think Alice needs a day off, and that guy...well...I'd have to meet him in person, but something tells me he doesn't pick up his own socks. I hate that in a man!

I never noticed that about the Alice dresses! Weeeeird.

I haven't read or seen confessions of a shopaholic, so i can't chime in on either.

I never even NOTICED that Alice dressed a lot like Alice before. Wow! I'm thinking that you're on to something there...for sure

I'm totally ignoring you about the movie being better than the book. You were drunk. Admit it.

Mmmmmmm....bleu cheese. Mr. Right hates it when I eat bleu cheese and red onions in the same sitting. He says it's the Fatal Potion. Apparently, it oozes out of my every pore.

Yes. Alice gets her fashion tips from Alice. Or vice versa.

That Alice thing has me smackin' my forehead - why didn't I ever see that?!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. We're up the road from you a ways in Red Rock...so Georgie could've had lunch with me and dinner with you. ;)

I'm glad I have Confessions of a Shopaholic in my Netflix queue! I can't wait to watch it!

Now, if only I looked as good as Cate Blanchett while wearing that dress...
Oh my goodness, I have never really paid attention to the whole Alice wardrobe thing before! lol

I had never noticed the Alice outfits, either. Too much alike to be a coincidence!

Seriously, how do you notice stuff like the Alice thing? Your mind works in strange ways.

And now I'm going to have bad dreams about Children of the Corn. Thanks for that!

I went to the theater to see "Confessions of a Shopaholic" because there was nothing else to see. I expected it to be lame-o, but I LOVED IT! Even the Hubby Man enjoyed it! I'm buying the DVD for sure! :)

The Alice comparison is amazing! :)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

That is funny...he does sound pretty interesting ;-) Mmm blue cheese, my fav...now your making me hungry! And yes, I think THAT Alice got her inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, tee hee.

We say "children of the corn", too. What's up with that?

Aren't YOU looking all cute up in here?! Nice header.

Hm. Have not seen or read those, sorry. LOVE the red dress. I used to think that I looked bad in red, but then I realized I just looked bad in fat. When I lost weight, I looked fab in EVERY color. Unfortunately, I would no longer look good in that dress, but it sure is beautiful :)

I JUST WATCHED THE MOVIE THIS VERY EVENING WITH SOME FRIENDS, AND I REALLY DID LIKE IT! I STILL SAY I LOVED THE BOOK BETTER, BUT ONLY BECAUSE I THINK SOPHIE K. IS SO COMPLETELY HILARIOUS! I TOO HAVE READ ALL HER BOOKS--HMMM, GO FIGURE! I HAVE ONE FOR YA--HAVE YOU EVER READ ANYTHING BY HARLAN COBEN? HE'S MY NEW FAVE THIS SUMMER. VERY GOOD MYSTERIES--I'M ON MY 7TH ONE IN 3 WEEKS--I'M FREAKING OUT BECAUSE THE LIBRARY DOESN'T HAVE THE NEXT ONE AND IT'S A BIT OF AN OLDER BOOK...I'LL BE HITTING AMAZON SOON!

I had no idea that this had been made into a movie (it's that whole living in France and being cut off from the world thing) I'll be in the States soon though! 2 weeks baby! I'll rush to go see it!

I just saw Benjamin Button last night. Funny that you just mentioned it. And yes, that dress was amazing. Wish I had the body to fit in it like she did. :) And the dance she does up in the arboretum is so beautiful. Haven't seen Shopaholic but my girls want me to. Maybe after your thoughts on how much you liked it I'll give it a try. :)
That is too weird about the Alice In Wonderland dresses!! :)

I still haven't seen that movie!

Tuesday's Tribute...Heartbeat..It's a Lovebeat

Yet Another Jay and Deb Production. I am paying my Tuesday's Tribute to Chilly. Today we celebrate our first Heartaversary. What is a Heartaversary, you ask? Well, settle in with a cuppa and let me weave a tale of wonder... One year ago today I was pacing the waiting room floor of University Medical Center in Tucson waiting for my husband’s surgeon to inform me if Chilly had survived his triple bypass. I’ll spare you the sordid details of how all this came about. I’ll just say that it was very fast and unexpected. The prospect of losing my spouse in my early 40’s wasn’t in my plan obviously. My plan was more of a “hanging with the kiddos, going to the Renaissance Faire, beating my son at Guitar Hero, driving my husband crazy for decades” kind of plan. But God always has a bigger plan for us. In this case, he was trying to keep Chilly on the planet for a while longer. As I have written before, Chilly has had two very challenging years. He has been a diabetic for a couple of decade
