Schoolgirl Shamus Hottie Has Giveaway Hints!

(There are giveaway hints throughout the post! Just scroll on down if you want to get to the good stuff first!)

I'm a lover of books. I am a huge book nerd! I loved to read girl detective stories when I was a young girl. I still do! I loved Nancy Drew, but the series that I couldn't get enough of was Trixie Belden, the schoolgirl shamus.

Do you have any childhood books that hold special memories for you?

In other news, I have been awarded the Sisterhood Award by my sweet bloggy friend, Robyn over at One of the Jones! I love visiting Robyn's blog! She is a funny lady and an amazing Mama! It's a happy place! Go give her some comment lovin'! You'll love her too!

Also, Cammie, another sweet bloggy friend, shared the Hottie Award with me! Wow! (She's probably been hittin' the wine bottle again...) Go read her blog Life in the House of No Sleep! She makes me laugh so hard that I have to put on the Depends before heading over to her blog! (Take my advice and wear some when you head over there! lol!)

I'm sharing these awards with my real life sister...Aunt Oooo...She's always there for me, and I just want to give her a little shout out to say I love her! She lives on the other side of the country now, and I miss her every day. (sniffle sniffle plop plop...tears falling...) She is a super hottie and I want her to wear this loud and proud!!! Sizzle! Sizzle! Oooo...you are HOT!

I loved Trixie Belden! More so than Nancy Drew--can only remember reading a few of hers. My mother always complained about me having my nose in a book. And I still do!!

congrats on your awards :) and look who made it on your blog, the little owl!
I used to read Nancy Drew too - and I loved the Hardy Boys!! My favorite book when I was young was called the "Boxcar Children" I don't know who wrote it - but I believe it is the first book that truly got me hooked onto Reading!!

My favorite was S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. I had all of her books, but Ponyboy's story was BEST. :o)

I remember my sister reading Trixie Beldon...as well as a series of books about Janet Lennon (!?) solving mysteries.

I was hooked on the Hardy Boys. I remember getting new Hardy Boys books with different covers than the ones I already owned and being irked that they were the same stories. I think I had about four copies (all with different cover artwork) of the Tower Treasure before I figured out it was the title that meant it was a different book, not the cover art.

I still do that with videos and often re-rent a movie I've already watched because the cover art is different.

Old dogs, new tricks, etc.

I too LOVED Nancy Drew--I had the bigggest collection (wish I still had them..). I also loved Roald Dahl and the Beezus and Ramona books a lot.

Oh my gosh! I thought I was the ONLY ONE who read Trixie Belden! I was even talking to my girls about these books the other day. How weird.
(AND... I used to have the same header as your blog. Cue the eerie music ;->. Quick, what number am I thinking of right now!)

Tuesday's Tribute...Heartbeat..It's a Lovebeat

Yet Another Jay and Deb Production. I am paying my Tuesday's Tribute to Chilly. Today we celebrate our first Heartaversary. What is a Heartaversary, you ask? Well, settle in with a cuppa and let me weave a tale of wonder... One year ago today I was pacing the waiting room floor of University Medical Center in Tucson waiting for my husband’s surgeon to inform me if Chilly had survived his triple bypass. I’ll spare you the sordid details of how all this came about. I’ll just say that it was very fast and unexpected. The prospect of losing my spouse in my early 40’s wasn’t in my plan obviously. My plan was more of a “hanging with the kiddos, going to the Renaissance Faire, beating my son at Guitar Hero, driving my husband crazy for decades” kind of plan. But God always has a bigger plan for us. In this case, he was trying to keep Chilly on the planet for a while longer. As I have written before, Chilly has had two very challenging years. He has been a diabetic for a couple of decade
