A Sunday Riddle

It's Sunday...Now here's a question for you...Is it the beginning of the week or is it the end of the week??? This question always sparks controversy (especially at Blockbuster..lol!) Is it a day of rest from the previous week's efforts or a day to prepare for the week ahead? (I have no idea what is making me ask this question! My fingers seem to have a life of their own!) I feel like it's a bit of both for me. I am taking full advantage of my day of rest today and laying around with books, some movies and I might have to snark some of my kids chocolate treats from yesterday. Hopefully this is not just a delicious fantasy rolling around in my head. Usually my Sunday reality is filled with laundry, getting things ready for our upcoming week at school, etc. (See? It really is both for me! I'm a huge flip flopper on this issue!) I'm going to keep my pimp hand strong today and see if I can just avoid those nasty chores like the plague!

Which brings me to the next part of my tale...You can imagine my pure delight when I discovered I was awarded not one, but two wonderful bloggy awards that are both about being a fantastic Mommy! These awards are very special to me because I love being a Mom. It's the most rewarding part of my life. To know that others felt I was worthy to share these awards with made me feel tons of warm fuzzies!

The first award is from Lisa at Mama's Smitten. Lisa is one the kindest Angels in the land of Blog. She has a lovely blog and I always leave there feeling so peaceful. The award she bestowed upon me is the Mommy of the Year Award! (Stop gagging, family members!) I was blushing when she stopped by to share the news. Thanks, Lisa!

So bloggy friends, this is for all the Moms that stop by my blog today! Take a moment to copy and paste this button and add it to your blog. That's how this award works...so don't be shy...go on now...right click and copy away!

The second award was given to me by the adorable Ashley at This Mama's Fr-exy! Ashley is a sweetie! You have to go visit to see the gorgeous family photo they just had done. I LOVE it!

This award originated from Norway! Thankfully, Ashley included the translation:)

"This is an award for being a wonderful Mom. You do fantastic work. Be proud of your accomplishments." (Chilly, I said stop gagging!)

I would like to share this award with Tracy at Diary of Sweet Nothings. Tracy is actually a "mom to be" and is so excited about her pregnancy journey! She is a hoot and one of the kindest bloggers around so scooty on over to see her!

In keeping with my whole day of rest theme, I am off to read my books...and steal chocolate from my kids while they sleep...and try not to listen to the laundry whisper dirty words to me like "hey, I'm dirty...wanna wash me? I know you do...yeah...that's right, baby...pick me up and carry me to the washer...mmm..yeah that laundry soap feels soooo good...."

Enjoy your Sunday and get some R & R yourself!

p.s. GIVEAWAY Alert! Jan over at Crazy Lady on Road 80 is hosting a FABULOUS Anthropologie giveaway! It ends today so run on over and give her some bloggy love!!! You will love this giveaway!

Well, I might be a dad but at least I can answer your question. Saturday - the Jewish sabbath (or more accurately, Friday sundown to Saturday sundown) - is day seven, as in God resting on the seventh day in Genesis and 'Six days shalt thou labour' in the 10 commandments. That makes Sunday - Christian holy day - day one (which is how they like it!). Phew.

I THINK THAT THE WHOLE DAY OF REST THING WAS FOR PEOPLE WITH NO KIDS...IT'S SO GREAT TO BE DOING DIY PROJECTS (AND OKAY, LAUNDRY TOO!) AROUND THE HOUSE WITH THE SOUNDS OF HUBBY AND KIDS NEAR THOUGH, ISN'T IT?! WHETHER IT'S FIRST OR LAST, IT'S DEFINITELY THE BEST! HAVE A WONDERFUL SUNDAY, AND I HOPE YOU GET TO READ A GOOD BOOK, AND MAYBE A HAVE A NICE BUBBLY BATH (WITHOUT THE LAUNDRY!) WHAT ARE YOU READING RIGHT NOW? I'M READING A BOOK BY A PSYCHOLOGIST CALLED "THE UNQUIET MIND" ABOUT HER JOURNEY THROUGH BIPOLAR ILLNESS. PRETTY SURE I HAVE IT!

Congrats on your awards, that's awesome! Oh no, you posted about Jan's giveaway, haha, isn't that a great giveaway!?

I think Sunday is the beginning. I've always thought of it as the beginning -- I think it's weird when calendars put it at the end.

Thanks for the kind words!! So glad you met michelle at Circle of life. Isn't she Great! You stumped me with that riddle. I don't think that hard on Sundays!:)
Cool beans on your awards! I think of Sunday as the last day of the week. For me I think it's because of school, and it just seems like the end of the week, and Monday is the beginning. I've also always hated Mondays...I'm never ready for them. BAHAHAHAHAHA

Tuesday's Tribute...Heartbeat..It's a Lovebeat

Yet Another Jay and Deb Production. I am paying my Tuesday's Tribute to Chilly. Today we celebrate our first Heartaversary. What is a Heartaversary, you ask? Well, settle in with a cuppa and let me weave a tale of wonder... One year ago today I was pacing the waiting room floor of University Medical Center in Tucson waiting for my husband’s surgeon to inform me if Chilly had survived his triple bypass. I’ll spare you the sordid details of how all this came about. I’ll just say that it was very fast and unexpected. The prospect of losing my spouse in my early 40’s wasn’t in my plan obviously. My plan was more of a “hanging with the kiddos, going to the Renaissance Faire, beating my son at Guitar Hero, driving my husband crazy for decades” kind of plan. But God always has a bigger plan for us. In this case, he was trying to keep Chilly on the planet for a while longer. As I have written before, Chilly has had two very challenging years. He has been a diabetic for a couple of decade
